AmariYah Israel
Reiki
AmariYah Israel is inspired by her Granny's golden remedies, restorative presence, and love. As a new Reiki II practitioner, AmariYah aims to share reiki with anyone who asks. Reiki is a light- or no-touch relaxation and healing method. She believes healing is an active, vital function of life that is for all of us. AmariYah is learning about how to personally lessen barriers and trauma often experienced when seeking care. She imagines wider support of self-led treatment and how this can positively influence our collective healing. AmariYah volunteers with the Lake Effect Free Alternative Health Clinic.
AmariYah’s background is in leadership development, diversity program design and facilitation, and student organizing. She is currently incorporating reiki into her daily life and preparing for Reiki Master (teacher) level training. AmariYah holds a degree in sociology and gender & diversity studies from Xavier University. AmariYah appreciates the opportunity to learn from students through her work in the multicultural affairs and LGBT offices at Case Western Reserve University.
